ACT Testing
The ACT is a nationally recognized college admissions exam that assesses students' academic readiness for college. DHS is proud to serve as an official ACT testing site for school-day administrations.
The ACT is a standardized test that includes the following sections:

Optional Writing (check with your colleges to see if this is required)
The test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, with a composite score reflecting the average of the four required sections.

Advanced Placement (AP)
The AP Program offers college-level curriculum and assessments to high school students, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit and demonstrate their readiness for postsecondary success.
AP Exams are standardized tests administered by the College Board each May. Each exam corresponds to a year-long AP course and includes both multiple-choice and free-response sections. Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with many colleges awarding credit or placement for scores of 3 and above.

Testing will take place at DHS in the JROTC wing. Students must arrive 30 minutes early to check in. Late arrivals may not be admitted.

No make-up exams will be scheduled except for approved College Board conflicts or emergencies.

Students with College Board-approved accommodations must ensure all paperwork is submitted before the deadline.

Student Requirements

Bring: Government-issued or school photo ID, #2 pencils, black or blue pens, and an approved calculator (for applicable exams).

Leave at home: Smartwatches, phones, bags, and unauthorized materials.

Dress comfortably: Layer clothing to accommodate testing room temperatures.

Know your exam date and time: Students are responsible for being present and on time.

Reduced Fee (if eligible): $53 per exam

Students eligible for Free/Reduced Lunch may qualify for fee waivers. Please speak with your AP Coordinator or counselor for assistance.
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
End of Pathway Assessment (EOPA)
EOPA (End of Pathway Assessment) is a rigorous exam, often industry-developed, that students in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways take to demonstrate their mastery of skills and knowledge learned in their pathway. It is given to students that are taking the 3rd level course in a pathway.
EOPA Benefits
- Students that pass the EOPA will receive a chord for recognition at graduation.
- The EOPA helps students earn industry-validated credentials and can lead to increased earning potential.
The test is administered at the end of each semester. You may contact your student’s pathway instructor for more info.

End of Course (EOC)
EOC tests are standardized assessments given to students enrolled in specific high school courses. These exams measure how well students have mastered state-adopted content standards and account for 20% of the final course grade.

Testing Guidelines

Students should bring their fully charged Chromebook and charger.

No cell phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices are allowed during testing.

Students will receive scratch paper and pencils during the test.

Students should eat a good breakfast and get plenty of rest.

PSAT/ SAT
PSAT
All 10th grade students will participate in the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) this fall. This test is offered at no cost to 10th grade students and provides valuable practice for the SAT while also identifying students who may qualify for advanced academic opportunities.

The PSAT measures reading, writing, and math skills and helps students assess their college and career readiness. It also connects students with scholarship opportunities through the College Board.
Parents are encouraged to ensure their student is present and prepared on testing day.
SAT School Day at DHS
This opportunity allows 12th grade students to take the college admissions exam in a familiar, supportive environment without having to travel to a weekend test site.

Please note: This SAT administration is only available during the school day and is not open to outside test-takers or weekend testing.

Final Exams
As we close out the 2024–2025 school year, Dutchtown High School will follow a special schedule for final exams and early dismissal the week of December 15th - 19th. Please review the details below to ensure your student is fully prepared and arrangements are made for pick-up if applicable.

Early Dismissal (December 17th & 18th)
Students may be dismissed early after final exams on Wednesday and Thursday if:

A parent/guardian completes the Early Release Permission Form

The student is listed on the official early dismissal list
-
The student is picked up by a parent/guardian (no bus transportation available for early dismissal)
Students who remain on campus after exams will attend study and make-up sessions, followed by lunch.
Friday, December 19th – Countywide Early Release
Friday is a Henry County Schools countywide early release day.

Students will follow a shortened class schedule.
-
Bus transportation will be provided at the end of the school day.
Parent Actions

Submit the Early Dismissal Form for Wednesday and/or Thursday if you plan to check your child out after exams.

Ensure you are available to pick up your child in person on those days.

Talk with your student about the importance of completing all exams and attending any required make-up sessions.
