Dutchtown 9th Grader Alexis Lattimore Selected as Disney Dreamer and National Youth Leader

Dutchtown High School is proud to celebrate Alexis Lattimore, a ninth-grade student whose leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to service are already making a national impact.

Alexis was recently selected as a member of the Disney Dreamers Academy, a highly selective national leadership and mentorship program sponsored by Disney and Steve Harvey. The program focuses on leadership development, career exploration, confidence-building, and academic excellence. This year, more than 20,000 students applied nationwide, and only 100 students were selected—making Alexis one of just 1 in 100 Dreamers across the country.

In addition to this achievement, Alexis is an active member of the The King Center Beloved Community Leadership Academy, where she was recently honored with the Academy’s Leadership Award. She was also chosen to represent the program at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Ceremony held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, a historic site of the Civil Rights Movement. During the ceremony, Alexis will join students from around the world on stage to recite one of Dr. King’s speeches, honoring his legacy of leadership and service.

Alexis’s accomplishments reflect not only her dedication and talent, but also the opportunities available to students who pursue their passions and lead with purpose. Her success serves as an inspiration to fellow Bulldogs to dream big, seek out enrichment opportunities, and believe in what is possible.

One of Alexis’s favorite quotes captures her mindset perfectly:
“ I want other students to know that dreaming big and going after your goals is worth it—you never know where it can take you.”

Dutchtown High School congratulates Alexis Lattimore on these outstanding achievements and looks forward to watching her continue to grow as a leader.
