Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)
Welcome to Dutchtown High School Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education. CTAE students graduate with the academic skills, hands-on experience in real work environments, and intensive career guidance required to successfully transition to a two-year or four-year college, the military, or other post-secondary education.
CTAE can help ensure that all students graduate from high school with academic and career skills required to succeed in the 21st Century workplace.
We offer career pathway courses in a variety of program areas. Program concentrations include:

Mission Statement
Henry County Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education programs will provide a rigorous, relevant, and technologically advanced curriculum that will be available to all Henry County students, teaching them how to be life-long learners while preparing them for the transition to secondary, post-secondary, and employment endeavors.
Professional Dress Day
The CTAE department promotes a department-wide Professional Dress Day on the last Wednesday of each month. Students are expected to dress in casual business attire. This includes, but is not limited to, a shirt with a collar; black, blue, or khaki slacks or skirts; professional shoes. Business attire does not include jeans, shorts, flip-flops, or athletic shoes. Scrubs may be worn for appropriate classes. Students will have to wear this attire for the duration of the school day to receive credit. The grading of the Professional Dress will be at the discretion of the teacher.
English Language Arts
Welcome to the Dutchtown High School English Department. Our goal as teachers is to provide a rigorous, challenging, and relevant English curriculum that will prepare students for college and career readiness. No matter what grade or course level, each and every student at DHS must develop a consistent habit of reading, writing, and speaking. Our goal as English educators is to encourage our students to take advantage of classroom experiences and to develop work ethics that will enable them to transfer the mastery of these skills into their careers and life beyond the classroom.

Fine Arts
Health & Physical Education
Health and PE (Physical Education) focuses on promoting students' physical, mental, and social well-being.
- Health Education covers topics like nutrition, personal hygiene, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and overall well-being.
- Physical Education (PE) involves physical activities, sports, and exercises to improve fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
Together, they help students develop healthy habits, physical fitness, and knowledge for lifelong well-being.

Mathematics
Welcome to Mathematics
Mathematics is a field of study that discovers and organizes methods, theories and theorems that are developed and proved for the needs of empirical sciences and mathematics itself. There are many areas of mathematics, which include number theory (the study of numbers), algebra (the study of formulas and related structures), geometry (the study of shapes and spaces that contain them), analysis (the study of continuous changes), and set theory (presently used as a foundation for all mathematics).

Social Studies
The Social Studies department
We offer the following courses:
- World Geography, Honors World Geography and AP Human Geography for students in 9th grade
- World History, Honors World History, and AP World History for students in 10th grade
- U.S. History, Honors U.S. History, and AP U.S. History for students in 11th grade
- American Government, Economics/Personal Finance, Honors Economics/Personal Finance, AP Macroeconomics for students in 12th grade
We will be offering the following elective courses this upcoming school year:
- Ethnic Studies
- AP Psychology
- Psychology
- Sociology
In our discipline, Milestones exams are required in U.S. History. Depending on the semester in which the student is enrolled in U.S. History, the Milestones exam will be taken in either December or May. Students in all classes have final exams in late December and then again in late May. Review will be provided for all students enrolled in Social Studies courses prior to the end of the course.
We are a department steeped in scholarship, pedagogy, and are committed to rigorous standards-based instruction. Additionally, we are dedicated to building relationships with our parents and students.

World Language
The World Languages program is designed to equip students with linguistic and cultural competencies essential for global engagement. The department provides courses in French and Spanish, catering to various proficiency levels.Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia, offers a robust World Languages program designed to equip students with linguistic and cultural competencies essential for global engagement. The department provides courses in French and Spanish, catering to various proficiency levels.
Course Offerings:
- French I & II: Introduction and intermediate courses focusing on oral and written skills, grammar, vocabulary, and cultural insights.
- Spanish I & II: Similar structure to French courses, emphasizing foundational and intermediate Spanish language skills.
- Honors Courses: Advanced study options for both French and Spanish, available to students meeting specific academic criteria.
Seal of Biliteracy:
Dutchtown High School recognizes students who achieve proficiency in English and an additional language through the Seal of Biliteracy. Requirements include:
- Completion of four years of English.
- Completion of four years of the same world language (French or Spanish) or a passing score on the AP language exam.
- A minimum score of 19 on both the Reading and English sections of the ACT.
Recipients are honored with a cord at the Senior Awards Night, and the seal is affixed to their diplomas.
